Help with trauma and difficult memories

If a memory still feels raw, or you are on high alert long after the event, you may want more than coping strategies or retelling the story every week. The focus here is on changing how the memory feels, not on reliving it.

What it can feel like

How I can help

I use gentle eye-movement work (IEMT, similar to EMDR, and in person only), along with NLP, cognitive hypnotherapy and metacognitive techniques. You do not have to describe what happened in detail. Sessions are 90 unrushed minutes, at your pace, and you are in control throughout. Many clients tell me a memory that used to floor them now feels distant or neutral.

What sessions are like

Sessions are 90 unrushed minutes, at the home office in West Norwood (SW16, near Streatham, Tulse Hill and Dulwich) or online across the UK. A session is £135, or four for £395. A free 20-minute call comes first, and we review how things are moving as we go. How many sessions varies from person to person. Eye-movement work is face to face in West Norwood. Other approaches can be online.

If you are in crisis, or having thoughts of harming yourself, contact your GP, NHS 111 or the Samaritans on 116 123, or call 999.

In clients’ own words

“What kind of sorcery is this? I had been struggling to overcome certain past events and suffering with low self-esteem and terrible bouts of anxiety that I felt I had no control over. I had done CBT in the past with only temporary relief. After the first session, the negative emotions that were so debilitating had vanished as soon as he told me to open my eyes. I cried happy tears. Months later, they’re still gone.”

KD · Trauma

“I received very good care from Simon who helped me with my childhood trauma. It was interesting to see my problem approached from two different angles and resolved in two sessions. He went the extra mile during the second session and increased the time to finish the treatment.”

KZ · Childhood trauma

“Without sounding mushy, today I felt as though I was walking on a rainbow all day and felt so free — all without having to rehash the gory details during the session. I think I will put on hold the NHS talking therapies. I truly believe I can learn more from you than from the generic pillar-to-post routine.”
